horizont recommends the use of super-fleece batteries or special batteries for electric fences. Conventional car starter batteries (accumulators) have a decisive disadvantage for use with electric fencers due to their high self-discharge rate. In addition, they are only cycle-resistant to a limited extent, i.e. they last significantly fewer charge-discharge cycles.

Special battery:

The special rechargeable batteries from horizont are already filled with battery acid. It is recommended to check the acid level every four weeks. The acid level can be seen from the min. and max. markings directly on the battery. Before putting the battery into operation, it should be fully charged once, after which it can be connected to your electric fence without any problems. You should always protect the poles of your special rechargeable batteries against the weather to promote a long service life and prevent unwanted discharge. It is best to place your battery on a firm and level surface.

For example, we recommend the use of a large-capacity battery transport box. There is even room for your electric fence in this box, it is lockable and thus the battery and electric fence are additionally protected against theft. You do not need any additional connection cables to connect your battery to your electric fence, they are located directly on the horizont electric fence.
